SECRETARY POWER LAYS FOUNDATION STONE OF SJVN’S 1 MW SOLARPOWER PLANT

SHIMLA -OCTOBER 19, 2018: Ajay Kumar Bhalla (IAS), Secretary (Power), Government of India accompanied by Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman and Managing Director, SJVN Limited,  Directors and Head of Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station  today laid foundation stone of 1 MW Solar Power Project at Wadhal, near Jeori in District Shimla. The solar power project is proposed to be implemented on the bank of river Satluj which was earlier the site of an adit of Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station.

Earlier he inaugurated a 310 KW Solar Power Plant implemented by the company  near Surge Shaft of the Nathpa Jhakri power station. This plant is supplying power to the township and other infrastructural facilities of the power station.

On arrival at the power station, Secretary Power carried detailed inspection of SJVN’s flagship1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station today. He appreciated SJVN Management for excellent Operation & Maintenance of India’s Largest Hydro Power Station NJHPS ( JHAKRI ), which has  contributed for increased efficiency in Power Generation and revenue to the Govt of India & Himachal Pradesh.
